Emilio Romeo

Emilio brings extensive experience in the telecommunications and IT sector with over 28 years at Ericsson including 9 years as CEO responsible for leading Ericsson Australia and New Zealand, and as a member of the Leadership Team across South East Asia, India and Oceania. Emilio’s experience includes, supporting the networks of all Australian and New Zealand Mobile Network Operators and NBN and leading major network transformations that grew network coverage and capacity, spanning 4 generations of telecommunication. He is an advocate for workplace safety, diversity and inclusion, championing programs that build and sustain equitable work environments.

Emilio graduated from Swinburne University with a Bachelor in Applied Science (Mathematics and Computer Science) and is a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. He holds an Accelerated Development Leadership program certificate from London Business School and has completed various leadership programs from Boston University and North Eastern University.

An active contributor to the industry, Emilio serves as Board Member of the European Australian Business Council, and, formerly, the Australian Mobile Telecommunications Association (including Chair of the Finance and Audit Committee) the Australian Industry Group (Victoria Council) and the Melbourne Networked Society Institute (The University of Melbourne); Member CEO Forum.
